Orbital Software, LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Orbital mobile application and the https://orbital.diy website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and any profile details you provide.

Contact data you add.Orbital lets you store and manage information about the people in your network — names, emails, phone numbers, notes, and similar details. This data is yours; we store it on your behalf to power the Service.

Usage information. We may collect information about how you interact with the Service (features used, screens visited, actions taken) to understand how the app is being used and improve it.

Crash and diagnostic reports. If the app crashes or encounters an error, we may automatically collect diagnostic data including device type, OS version, and a stack trace to help us fix the problem. We use Sentry for error monitoring; see Sentry's Privacy Policy.

Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by our payment provider. We do not store your full card number or payment credentials — only a record of your subscription status.

Device and log data. We automatically receive information your device sends, such as IP address, browser type, and referring URL, when you access the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• Authenticate you and keep your account secure
• Diagnose crashes and fix bugs
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Send you transactional emails (account notices, receipts)
• Respond to your support requests
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information or the contact data you store in Orbital.

3. Data Sharing

We share information only in these limited circumstances:

• Service providers. We use third-party vendors (hosting, error monitoring, payments) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
• Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.
• Business transfers. If Orbital Software, LLC is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and contact data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion (see Section 6), we will delete your data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business reasons.

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Choices and Rights

You may:

• Access or correct your account information from within the app.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing privacy@orbital.diy. We will process your request within 30 days.
• Opt out of non-essential communications by following the unsubscribe link in any email.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA respectively. Contact us at privacy@orbital.diy to exercise those rights.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email or a notice within the app before the change takes effect.
